Remark: This photograph was taken looking west along present day Indiana Avenue in Chesterton. To the far right is the public school of Chesterton siting on Block 1, Lot 6 of the original town plat; the Westchester Public Library now stands at the site of the school. The steeple seen is the distance is St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church. Constructed in 1876, St. Patrick was destroyed by fire in 1998.
