A Century of Progress
The 1933 World's Fair
In 1935, the five homes were relocated from Chicago after the 1933 World's Fair
by Robert Bartlett, the developer of Beverly Shores. These homes were meant to
demonstrate the next 100 years of architectural design, experimental materials,
and new technologies. Indiana Dunes National Park and Indiana Landmarks leases
the homes to private individuals for rehabilitation. All five homes are on the
National Register of Historic Places.
