Remark: Though this postcard provides no place identification information on the front, the message on the reverse sheds enough detail to provide a specific location. The message reads:
"Valparaiso, Ind.
H. P. Ave.
June 24, 1912
Dear Clarabel,
Will send a card to let you know that I am in Valpo and live in this house. Will write letter before long.
with Love Edith"
H. P. Avenue is Horse Prairie Avenue, which veers southward and to the left in this image. The individual taking the photograph, likely an amateur photographer, is looking west down West Street. The house and small barn visible just to the left of center in this image no longer exists and the lot is empty, while the house visible on the hill to the far right still stands [2022].
