Remark: This photograph was taken looking east down Main Street (Lincolnway) from Washington Street, the Porter County Court House square being behind the trees on the far right. Although unmarked as to the date on postcard, it is readily apparent that this photograph was taken in 1914 given the location of flagging, the individuals in the image, and a comparison with a similar postcard that is dated. Signs visible on the buildings include H. S. Herrick's Groceries, Fruits, and Vegetables; Rockwell and Stockman, Lawyers; F. R. Marine, Lawyer; Porter County Abstract Company; Szold's Department Store; Olympia Candy and Ice Cream; Beach Jewelry; Dancing School; John H. Ross Hardware; Bakery; and Dentist.
