Crosby's Mill, Sagers Lake
Valparaiso, Indiana

Date: December 14, 1912
Source Type: Postcard
Publisher, Printer, Photographer: Max
Postmark: December 20, 1912, Valparaiso, Indiana
Collection: Steven R. Shook
Remark: This image shows the flour mill constructed by William Cheney in 1841. The mill was then owned and operated by M. B. Crosby, and later by William Sager. Prior to this flour mill, the location was the site of Samuel Shigley's sawmill, constructed around 1836. At the time this photograph was taken, the mill was being operated under the name Aetna Mills. Note that the sender of this postcard mentions that he "took this photograph last Saturday," which, given the postmark, means that this photograph can be dated to December 14, 1912.
