Remark:  The Edgar Crumpacker Home, a monument to Valparaiso's first Congressman, built about 1890, stands at 208 Michigan Street, Valparaiso, Ind. Converted to apartments during the 1940's, the exterior is still maintained in its original state, as near as feasible, by the Carlos Evans family who purchased the property in 1949.
