Valparaiso, Indiana

Date: Circa 1910-1920
Source Type: Postcard
Publisher, Printer, Photographer: Unknown (#8692)
Postmark: None
Collection: Steven R. Shook
Remark: This postcard is believed to have been distributed by the Woolworth Company, as the reverse exhibits the diamond "W" symbol. The airplane appearing on the postcard was added by the publisher for dramatic effect. The large building in the lower center portion of the image is Valparaiso Hall, also known as the Academy of Music. The church and steeple seen in the distance is St. Paul's Catholic Church. Both the Academy of Music building and the Catholic Church were later razed.
