Albert F. Busse Memorial and Public School
Porter, Indiana

Date: After My 1923
Source Type: Postcard
Publisher, Printer, Photographer: SSSS
Postmark: None
Collection: Steven R. Shook
Remark: Originally referred to as Porter School, this school's name was later changed to Hageman School. The school seen here was built in 1895 and was demolished in 1973. The school stood where the Hageman Library is located at 100 Francis Street.

An older and significantly smaller brick school stood where the Albert F. Busse memorial playground is located in this image. It is believed that this postcard was produced after Busse's death in May 1923.

The arched sign states "DEDICATED TO THE CHILDREN IN MEMORY OF ALBERT F. BUSSE."
