Remark: This photograph was taken at the Lake Shore & Michigan Southern Railway Station facing southeast. The building in the distance are on the south side of present day Broadway Avenue. Written on the reverse of this photograph is "Grace, Viola, Frank Gay. Chesterton, Ind. Aug 19 - 1917."

Frank Milton Gay was born November 19, 1888, and his sister Grace V. Gay was born March 29, 1893; both were born in Porter County, Indiana, and were the children of Alvin and Deborah H. (Shults) Gay. Frank married Viola Victoria Bunch on August 2, 1917, in St. Joseph County, Indiana. Thus, Frank and Viola had been married 17 days when this photograph was taken.

Grace married Floyd Horne and passed away on December 20, 1962, at South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.

Frank passed away at New Carlisle, St. Joseph County, Indiana, on October 21, 1946, at the age of 57, while Viola died on September 5, 1997, at New Carlisle."
