Remark: The residence in the middle of this image was that of the Louis H. Joers family. Louis was the youngest of four sons of August Joers, grandson of John Joers, immigrant from Germany. Today [2020], it is now the site of Dunes Antiques, 4944 West US Route 12.

The Joers family was large and were dairy farmers and active in Democratic politics; several of the houses east of the antique shop were also lived by Joers family members. The structures may be in unincorporated Porter County as the Beverly Shores town limits extend 185 feet south of the center line of US Route 12.
